A new study has found that car drivers who eat a lot of processed meats, junk food and sugar are more likely to be involved in serious car wrecks. A study of over 400 truck drivers in China found that those most likely to eat fried foods were also most likely to cause accidents behind the wheel.

One of the biggest reasons for this is that junk food diets and unhealthy eating contributes to fatigue which increases the chances of dangerous driving. The most recent study of over 800 drivers in Estonia also correlates how certain types of food can impact driver safety. Those drivers who had poor diets were more likely to have driving conviction rates and higher accident rates too. This study evaluated impulsivity and aggression and looked at blood samples for genetic analysis.

The impact of sugar can decrease a driver’s sharpness, meaning that someone could end up in a serious accident or even charged with careless driving. Speaking with a dedicated lawyer might be the only way to protect your interests after you have been seriously hurt.

When someone isn’t paying attention or is tired behind the wheel, this can drastically increase the chances of being in a vehicle accident. Any time a vehicle accident occurs, it leaves behind extensive costs and damages tied to the wreck.

If you or someone you know has already been hurt in a serious vehicle accident, you need to consult with an experienced San Francisco car accident lawyer as soon as possible.
