Did you know that after an accident, the physical impacts can also manifest alongside emotional challenges that make it hard to recover? Some people are even uncomfortable being in a car or driving for months after a serious accident happened. If this is you, you may be struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder in addition to the physical conditions.

You may not even fully realize the many ways that an accident can change your life until days or weeks after the accident occurred. When you visit the hospital after the wreck happens, continue to follow up with all your appointments and monitor your condition for the best chance of recovery. A new study indicates that playing Tetris shortly after being involved in a vehicle accident could be critical for minimizing the trauma you experience after the accident itself.

A group of researchers in Sweden and the United Kingdom recently published a study indicating that playing simply 20 minutes of Tetris after a car crash can minimize the traumatic memories and stop them from forming in the future. This intervention was delivered within emergency departments within 6 hours after a car accident.

A total of 71 patients participated in the research study indicating that those participants who played Tetris had a lower chance of developing traumatic memories that could lead to deeper problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder. There are many different implications of being involved in a vehicle accident and consulting with an experienced attorney as soon as possible after getting hurt is important.
